What rap commercial? The question has long been debated in the halls and always sparks controversy on the web, even at the time Tip-Ex to write his name on his glasses for fear of losing and dance like an autistic swaying from left to right (mostly right, liberalism requires) can sell ringtones by hundreds of thousands. But why the heavily Lunch download songs to their phone!? J'me decidedly getting old .... In short, we recently asked me if I write about more recent albums (Arno Yo! A little for me at CDI Rap Mag?). Genre 1999 - 2000? No no, like from 2006 to 2007. We must not mess either! 1999 is already a good effort you think?

Because if we look closer " The princes of the city " can be likened to a factory tube! First "big Yeah," a little electro song again and again signed by the great DJ Mehdi, with its ultra catchy loop stolen from qu'Afrika Bambaataa Kraftwerk had already "borrowed" for one of the first titles in the history of rap: "Planet Rock . Wholesale: expression denoting a friend popularized by 113 ( cf. The dictionary in your neighborhood ).
" Holdup " so ... Both the FF bof bof, as Pone has always been excellent writer as well! A single unlikely when you think about, a story based on guns, the salami and chase. But nothing is impossible for the Mafia K'1 Fry. Ideal J, Manu Key or Rohff we have also shown sharp headlights with titles with the nonsense that radio he used to hear (" opens his eyes, I'll take you on a journey through the clouds ... ).
" Jackpots 2000 " then. Ahhh here we touch a nerve! French rap can move asses in a club? Hey bah yeah big! What was good to type little dance on this song ... Funky and desire, we must say what is as kitsch as the return of the Wheel of Fortune on TF1!
super lightweight title with the image of "Uncle corn " that seem to nothing put in the minds of every one of us was stuck there for another few years. It was not easy to come up with but this loop Eastern Rim-K had decided to have some fun for his solo. The roots have always had an important place in the music of this group. Moreover, we find AP with an "Uncle Islands " well below the quality of the title of another uncle, yet sympathetic listening, especially for those like me who have experienced the warm tropical Caribbean ( pawol a ti bad eh Nick?).
And finally the title track, close to the youth anthem of French cities. Already that Rim-K and AP are not really known for rapping in time, this rapid prod Mehdi inspired the title of Curtis Mayfield " Make me believe in you " does not help much ... But we do not balance! Not being listened to 113 for the technique of flow, or even for their writing talents, but because of their rap side emerges a "real", sincere with themselves and with their audience. And whatever bad language tell, they kept this in mind 10 years after their debut recordings.

Say it clearly and let us not mince words album kills it! And it is mainly due to the work of DJ Mehdi, who in this apocalyptic end of the millennium based piano / violin, brought us on a silver platter (or instead of platinum) album alien-soaked electro influences and therefore well ahead of others. Obviously the charisma of the 3 rappers is not for nothing either. With this record, the 113 can boast to be part of those (too) rare music artists called "urban" to be released one day a record popular sense of the term. The kind of cd that everyone can listen on finding happiness! Unfortunately, "The princes the city" will never have a worthy successor in the discography of Karim, Yohann & Mokobé. Maybe the 504 station wagon loaded with 2 wins music amply deserved on the board of Michel Druker still has-been, had become too heavy to ride properly on the highway without fault. Or perhaps they would not have forgotten the little Mehdi rest on air ...
